Join the NMRA Sunshine Region Eastern Division for a Model Railroading Workshop on Technology in Model Railroading. For many model railroaders technology is playing a more and more important role in our model railroading. The quest to add new and interesting features to your layout is reaching new heights.
The workshop will include clinics on computer controlled signaling, using Online Maps to Enhance Prototypical Layout Design and using LED’s to light many features on your layout.
A special presentation will be on Adding Interest and Life to Your Layout using Arduino Modules. Arduino is the latest hobbyist breakthrough allowing the modeler to design custom animated models using Arduino products to add animation, control motors and create lighting effects for your model railroad. This presentation will be a preview of a two hour hands on clinic at the Sunshine Region 2015 Convention in Jacksonville where participants will have actual hands on experience programming and using an Arduino module.
We’ll also have brief presentations on the Sunshine Region Convention Model Contest and the NMRA Achievement Program.
There will be a Door Prize raffle with more than a dozen prizes available including your choice of either an N Scale or HO Scale Locomotive. We hope to see you in Orlando on May 16th.
Admission is $10 at the door ($15 on site) and includes admission to the workshop and a continental breakfast. Lunch is extra, on your own offsite.
And be sure to bring models to display for your fellow model railroaders and talk about your modeling projects. Models do not need to be finished or completed for display.
